I’m so glad you’re here!
Finding a therapist can seem daunting. Now that you found my site, let me make it easier for you. I work with individuals and couples using a compassionate, strengths-based, research-backed approach to get you or your relationship healthier and happier.
For individuals, I use a modality called Internal Family Systems (IFS). IFS therapists believe in the multiplicity of mind. We may have a part that is ambitious and strives for more, while another part seeks work/life balance. Sometimes these parts take extreme positions, such as part that believes we should never get angry, and that part might conflict with a part that experiences outrage about something. Most of the time, the parts are governed by what we call the Self, which brings curiosity and compassion to all our inner struggles. Sometimes, however, parts of us can become overwhelming. In IFS therapy, the goal is to help integrate our parts so our true Selves can come forward. For couples, I primarily use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). This is an evidence-based treatment that focuses on changing problematic patterns between couples and deepening moments of connection. EFT emphasizes that the problem lies not within either partner but in the cycle between them. Most couples find this approach non-blaming, supportive and effective at restoring connection between partners. |
About Me
I come to the psychotherapy profession with a background in theater and I bring that creative spirit with me in the work I do as a therapist. I do not believe there is a one-size-fits-all therapeutic approach and I customize my treatment plans to every individual or couple’s needs. I see therapy as a collaborative process and one where together we discover what is already working and what needs some attention. I'm an active participant and see us as a team where we get to know all of your parts, beliefs and identities and get you or your relationship to a healthier and happier place.
